Google Chrome PepperFlash Does Not Stay Disabled
Friday, 08 February 2013 00:00

Update March 18th, 2013: As of Version 25.0.1364.97 released on February 21st, 2013, PepperFlash will now retain the disabled setting and this issue should no longer apply.  However, MySpeed for Mac users should download the latest MySpeed for Mac referenced below and should still disable PepperFlash according to the instructions on this site.

If you have tried disabling Google Chrome's PepperFlash based on the instructions that you found on this site, you will notice that PepperFlash no longer stays disabled.  There is a bug in the latest Google Chrome version 24.0.1312.57 released on January 30th, 2013 in that Chrome is not remembering the state of PepperFlash.

You can read more about this bug on the Chrome developers issue tracker. You will notice that this was also an issue last September and has now been re-introduced.  See Issue #150596 here:

http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=150596

We have been working to get new releases out for Windows and Mac that work with PepperFlash.

MySpeed for Windows Version 5 users, download v5.6.2.394 or later from the MySpeed for Windows download page.

MySpeed for Mac users will still need to disable PepperFlash and should download the latest MySpeed for Mac release.

Update: MySpeed for Windows Version 3 is no longer compatible with Google Chrome with or without PepperFlash.  See this udpate.

Applies to: MySpeed for Windows 5 and MySpeed for Mac 1.4

Operating System: Windows and Mac

Browser: Google Chrome
